I started hearing a song yesterday evening and then started to hear it again not long after I woke up a couple hours ago. I have not heard the song in a long time. The only words I could hear were slow fade and I could hear some of the music, so I looked for the song. The words are powerful and so true.
Many don’t see it and never realize it, as they slowly fade away from God’s Word. They compromise, so not to offend. The world has become more about pleasing man, than God. It’s happening everywhere and yes, even in churches. So many are compromising, agreeing with the world and they are slowly fading away from God.
What came to my mind immediately was a chameleon, how it slowly moves one foot in front of another, sometimes tittering back and forth before taking the next step. In time though, it eventually gets further, further away from where it started. It slowly starts to change, fading, in order to fit into its surroundings. It can happen before many know it and some are blinded, believing what they are doing is right. Gods Word tells us even the elect will be deceived, fading away.
It’s not hard to see, you don’t have to look very hard, how compromise has evaded places. How it has slowly made its way into so many homes, churches, families, and many other places. Mostly because of not wanting to offend others. Jesus did not compromise, He told it like it was and He would not compromise today. God has never changed and His Word has not changed. Man is the one who has changed and who is slowly fading away. God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Luke 16:15 “He said to them, you are the ones who declare yourselves just and upright in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts [your thoughts, your desires, your secrets]; for that which is highly esteemed among men is detestable in the sight of God.”
2 Corinthians 4:4 “In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”
I pray Isaiah 35:5 over many, “Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped.”
