Being Feed but Starving at the Same Time…

This morning I woke up at 3:33am and came into the living room and sat down in my chair. I started praying then got quiet. Suddenly in front of me I see someone, I knew quickly who it was, it was Jesus. He waved me toward Him, and I did not hesitate to run to Him. As we walked, I started to see many things. I saw what I best can describe as people who looked to be starving, no meat on their bones, just skin. I also saw bones, skulls, and other things. I then hear Him say, “Capernaum” and I am back in the living room.
So, I started to look in the Bible about it. The town is spoken about in all four gospels. Jesus did so much in this town. He preached in the synagogue. He healed Simon’s mother-in-law as well as a Roman Centurion’s servant. Jesus healed a man who was possessed by an evil spirit. His word tells us in Mark 1:32-34: “Many sick and demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus. The whole town gathered at the door to watch. So, Jesus healed many people who were sick with various diseases, and he cast out many demons.” It was also in this area where Simon dropped his fishing nets, and so many fish were in the nets they began to tear. Jesus gave the sermon on the mound there. In Mark 5:25-34 the woman with issue of blood was healed. In Luke 8:40-56 Jesus raises a girl from the dead. In Matthew 9:27-31 Jesus heals two blind men. Yet, in Matthew 11 Jesus speaks strongly toward Capernaum.
Why did Jesus say the words in Matthew 11:23-24 after all that was done in Capernaum? After Jesus healed the two blind men, people and religious leaders started to change, jealousy, doubt, and other things started to make their way through the city so much so that Jesus says in Matthew 11:23-24 “You people of Capernaum, will you be honored in heaven? No, you will go down to the place of the dead. For if the miracles I did for you had been done in wicked Sodom, it would still be here today. I tell you, even Sodom will be better off on judgment day than you.”
Think about what those two verses say. After all that was done there, the miracles and other things, many people turned their back upon Him. Jesus says that even Sodom will be better off come judgement day, then those in Capernaum.
It was being poured out there, people were being feed there with many things, God’s word, miracles but yet in the end they starved to death. Why, because man’s thoughts and ways got in Gods way. Many people even now are starving to death from the lack of the true knowledge of His word. Some may be able to quote the Bible from the front to the back, word for word, but yet in their heart, they only know of God but don’t truly don’t KNOW God. They have a spiritual congestion of the heart.
When everything is said and done, when we stand before God, it will not matter if we did a million works for Him. Knew the Bible from one end to the next, what we have or how many people knows our name, how many titles we have. What will matter is what is really in our heart. So no matter how Christian you look on the outside it comes down to your personal relationship with God.
